Early 18th century vintage illustration by Czech mycologist Julius Vincenz von Krombholz. He was a forensic medical examiner. While having to solve often cases of mushroom poisoning he became interested in mushrooms. He described and categorize many species and made astonishing mushroom atlas. He reportedly tested over 1700 species of mushrooms on himself.
