FAQ

How the images are prepared
There is a lot of work involved in preparing an image to print. The first thing is to find an attractive illustration that would also look good on a t-shirt. The next step is to clean the image using an image editor to clear it from the yellow background color of the paper the image was painted on. This is done very thoroughly and meticulously so that the image stays intact and with sharp edges. This takes days with some images, but weeks or even moths with others.

How t-shirts are selected
The choice of t-shirt is very important. First of all I use only t-shirts made from 100% organic cotton. I also look for t-shirts of good quality. Even among organic t-shirts there are brands that are of poor quality, hence making them a less sustainable product. A t-shirt should last long and be comfortable.

Aesthetically, I put a lot of thought into how the color of the t-shirt compliments the illustration. The t-shirt should be a part of the whole work of art, complimentary in it’s color and mood, not just a backdrop. As you can see from our photos, I offer only what has been physically printed and approved as an attractive final product.

About the print
Most of the t-shirts are printed on a Brother DTG (direct to garment) printer. This method is Oekotex certified, and is safe to wear, even for infants. For prints on color t-shirts a white pre-treatment has to be used. That makes prints on color t-shirts more expensive and it also gives the print a more plastic touch. I use it only on dark colored t-shirts, when it is necessary. On lighter colors like beige, pink and sometimes light blue I prefer printing directly to fabric, after making sure that the result still looks good. As I mentioned earlier, the product photos are of physically printed t-shirts so the quality of the colors that you see in the picture are what you will get if you order the t-shirt.
